(Christopher Duigan)
KZN-based Steinway Pianist Christopher Duigan wishes to thank the many people who have donated to support the Music Revival Online.
“We are currently purchasing a studio quality set-up to ensure our livestream sessions continue in the same professional quality that you have come to enjoy! Please support us if you are able and are enjoying our production in your home!,” says Duigan.
“Thank you for your support and encouragement in recent weeks. We are very aware of what the livestreams offer to many who are feeling isolated and overwhelmed at this time. We do appreciate every donation made!“ he adds.
Music Revival Online presents Christopher Duigan at Home with the Livestreams now being held on Wednesdays and Saturdays. Duigan describes the programme ahead as follows:
Wednesday August 5: PIANO HOUR: BY REQUEST and Q&A Vol 2
This Wednesday the programme once again
features a number of items requested by listeners. This includes Autumn by Cecile Chaminade, music by
Glinka, Tchaikovsky, Schubert, Paderewski
and more. Submit your questions ASAP!
Saturday August 8: IN CONCERT- Mozart, Beethoven, Chopin, Debussy
Don't miss this classical recital of poetic
music by Beethoven - Sonata Op 81a Les
adieux, by Chopin - Polonaise in A Military
and Nocturne in E-flat Op 55 No 2 with music by WA Mozart and Maurice Ravel to
complete the selection.
Wednesday August 12: PIANO HOUR: What Are We Listening To?
The Wednesday session features something
special - an illustrated guide to what we are listening to! I attempt to
demonstrate, with musical examples and complete performances, the basics of
music I am always talking about! I will attempt to show what the difference is
between G major and C minor, what a sonata is, and a concerto, how the major
composers fit together along a time-scale and what one can actively listen for
generally in much of the music I play.
Saturday August 15: IN CONCERT - Songs of Travel, Moments of Music and "They really did that?" A classical selection of music by Bach, Scarlatti, Mozart, Beethoven, Schubert, Liszt and Brahms, plus more held together by a string of creatively linked anecdotes.
