Izimo Ezisizungezile (The circumstances around us)
Izimo Ezisizungezile brings together
works by four artists, Khulekani Cele, Muzi Ndlela, Siyabonga Ngubane and Eloff
Pretorius, within the theoretical framework of reciprocal determinism.
Reciprocal determinism suggests that behaviour is partially a function of
environment, and environment is partially a function of behaviour. The artist’s
works address diverse aspects of South African life including spirituality,
culture, access to drinking water, and environmental degradation.

Kwanele
Luyanda Zindela presents Kwanele. Through the collecting and sharing of thoughts, lived experiences, feelings, hopes and fears, the gallery mezzanine space becomes a vessel - a communal space where burdens, individual or common, can be shared or left behind. The vessel becomes Kwanele. Kwanele is a communal, interactive space where enough is shared - during a time where notions of community, interactivity and enough have changed to the point of becoming almost unrecognizable. Kwanele responds to this.
