In his new show, Learning To Fly which runs at Rhumbelow Durban this weekend with further performances in Northlands and Pietermaritzburg, Barry Thomson tracks the artists and songs that inspired him to become a musician. He tells stories of how he began his early career as a guitarist/singer, and the roads he has travelled thus far.
Learning To Fly. It’s all about new beginnings; staying positive and being creative in the world of live music.
Song included are by the artists who have been part of his life as a musician. These include Tom Petty, Jack Johnson, Jackson Brown, Travelling Wilburys, The Eagles, Neil Diamond, Maroon 5, Neil Young, Dire Straits, and a few original songs.
Performances take place as follows:

Northlands Bowling Club: November 27 at 19h30. 50 Margaret Maytom Ave, Durban North
Allan Wilson Shellhole, Pietermaritzburg: November 29 at 14h00. 5 Durban Road, Pietermaritzburg
(Venues open 90 minutes before show for snacks/drinks) Limited secure parking. Cash bars are available at all venues, no alcohol may be taken onto the premises.
“Whilst we are not changing our 2020 pricing, we would ask that if you are able to please assist us and the performers by donating a higher ticket price,” says Rhumbelow manager, Roland Stansell.
