Baroque 2000 returns to the Church of the Mariannhill Monastery for a live Christmas Celebration Concert on December 20, 2020.
The extraordinary soprano-coloratura Lynelle Kenned will join from Cape Town and will perform the moving arias Lascia ch’io pianga from Handel’s Rinaldo Opera and Remember me from Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas.
Handel’s Concerto Grosso Op6 No4, Vivaldi’s Concerto for Strings as well as Corelli’s famous Concerto Fatto per la Notte di Natale (concerto for Christmas Eve) will feature in the programme.
The Baroque Christmas Celebration Concert takes place at the Church of the Mariannhill Monastery on December 20 at 11h30. Tickets R170 at the door.
There is ample and safe parking and the Tea Garden will be open for light meals and refreshments. Covid-19 social distancing and sanitation regulations will be controlled by the Monastery. The wear of a mask is compulsory.
