DFM CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR MICRO BUDGET FILM FUND

EThekwini Municipality’s Durban Film Office is announcing its 2020/2021 call out for submissions for the Micro Budget Film Fund.

The Micro-budget Film Programme aims to support local emerging filmmakers and encourage the production of content in order to stimulate the local film industry. The programme seeks to develop a local model and brand of low-budget film-making that is cost-effective, practical and commercially viable. The Durban Film Office defines 'emerging' filmmaker as having acquired some experience producing a work which has earned industry or public attention, and is aspiring to write, direct or produce feature film length works. The Micro-budget Film Fund offers R250,000 for production of a feature-length film to three projects.

The Micro Budget Film Fund fact sheet is also available on the Durban Film Office website to assist in outlining the overview of the programme; eligibility criteria, submission criteria, evaluation process, and contractual agreement.

Applications are now open to February 5, 2021, at 16h00. Only applications submitted online will be accepted.

Application forms can be obtainable from Nosipho.hlophe@durban.gov.za
