Join the KZNSA Gallery for the exhibition openings of Terra Fragmented by Nindya Bucktowar and We’re oClay by Ceramics South Africa KZN region on Tuesday, August 17 from 17h30.

Terra Fragmented, which will run in the Park Gallery is an immersive, three-dimensional clay installation. The work inspires and stimulates a re-investigation of the landscapes we occupy - the tangible, tactile, visceral forms and textures that draw us in.

Referencing natural and urban landscapes, Nindya Bucktowar works with clay to investigate these ever-morphing and overlapping ecosystems. Her sculptural works bring together familiar and unfamiliar elements in the physical world, provoking conversations about our relationship with the landscapes we inhabit.

Bucktowar explains: “The human spirit inhabits ever-changing landscapes; the planet earth, the city and the body. They are fragments of energy and matter; pulsating, breathing, morphing, moving.”

The topographical clay series is inspired by our natural and urban landscapes and informed by her cumulative experience in art, science and architecture. In this body of work, Bucktowar immerses herself in the exploration and possibilities of clay as medium. Working with the push and the pull and finding new ways to appreciate chance.

Terra Fragmented by Nindya Bucktowar runs at the KZNSA Gallery from August 17 to September 5, 2021. We're oClay will be running over the same period. The Arts Café will be open for drinks and light meals.
