This month, M-Net Channel 101 brings viewers the very best in gripping series. From the Best of Brit with police procedurals to courtroom drama to emotional depictions of love, Mondays will never be the same again.
Starting on Monday, October 11 at 20h30 is Vigil, a British police procedural miniseries created by Tom Edge and produced by World Productions (the producers of Line Of Duty, The Pembrokeshire Murders, Save Me, and Bodyguard).
The mysterious disappearance of a Scottish fishing trawler and a death on board a Trident nuclear submarine bring the police into conflict with the Navy and British security services. The six-part series will see Detective Chief Inspector Amy Silva (played by Suranne Jones best known for her roles in Coronation Street, Vincent, Strictly Confidential, Harley Street and Unforgiven) investigate the death on board the Trident nuclear submarine HMS Vigil. Although the death was written off as an accidental overdose, Amy suspects foul play. But, when the crew close ranks in the face of Amy’s questioning, a new threat overshadows her inquiry.

Following Vigil, viewers can continue to tune in to The Good Fight S5 at 21h30. In the fifth season, Diane (played by 15-time Emmy Award nominee and winner Christine Baranski) is forced to question whether it’s appropriate for her to help run an African American law firm with Liz (Audra McDonald known for her roles in Private Practice and The Good Wife) when the firm loses two top lawyers. Meanwhile, Marissa (Sarah Steele) and the firm become entangled with Hal Wackner (Mandy Patinkin), a regular Chicagoan who decides to open his courtroom in the back of a copy shop. Then, also on October 11, HBO’s Scenes from a Marriage premieres at 22h30. The miniseries is written, directed, and executive produced by Hagai Levi (Our Boys, The Affair, HBO’s In Treatment).
Scenes from a Marriage is a modern adaptation of Ingmar Bergman's classic Swedish series of the same name, centering on Mira (played by Golden Globe winner Jessica Chastain), a confident, ambitious tech executive left unfulfilled by her marriage, and Jonathan (played by Oscar Isaac known for Inside Llewyn Davis, A Most Violent Year and Ex Machina), an accommodating, hyper-intellectual philosophy professor desperate to keep their relationship intact. The five-part series re-examines the dilemmas probed by the original and flips the script on traditional gender roles to explore love, hatred, desire, monogamy, marriage, and divorce through the lens of a contemporary American couple.
