9TH AFRICAN EMERGING FILMMAKERS AWARDS [AEFA]: CALL OUT FOR FILM SUBMISSIONS

The African Emerging Filmmakers Awards [AEFA] invite all filmmakers to submit their films.

The awards are a growing platform that encourages high-quality productions. The Awards Ceremony will be on November 27, 2021, at the Greyville Racecourse. The film submissions’ call-out period is now open until November 15, 2021. Film producers of African origin from all over the continent can submit their films. All film genres are accepted in a DVD format, USB, or by submitting a link via email.

South African filmmakers submitting films must attend the event if nominated. International producers must email an acceptance 30 seconds- 1-minute video clip so that the organizers can play it at the event should the submitted film wins.

Some of the submitted films will screen in a three-day EThekwini Film Market from November 19 to 21, 2021

AEFA kindly requests that submitted films be marked as follows: “The Film Title.”  “The Producer’s Name.” and “The Producer’s Contact Details”

Best Supporting Actress

Best Actor

Best Actress

Best Screenplay/Writer

Best Authentic Film

Best Costume and Makeup

Best African Costume

Best Film in Vernacular

Best Sound

Best Original Music

Best Cinematographer

Best Editor

Best Director

Best Artistic Film

Best Feature Film

 

Film submissions must be hand-delivered during office hours or sent via post to Durban Film Office, 41 Margaret Mncadi Avenue, Rennie House, 11th Floor.
