Baroque 2000 will present their Christmas Celebration Concert on December 19, 2021, at the Church of the Mariannhill Monastery
The brilliant soprano Hlengiwe Mkhwanazi (based in Cape Town) wilI perform the famous arias from Handel's Messiah Rejoice Greatly and I know my Redeemer Liveth and from his Opera Samson Let the Bright Seraphim.
Vivaldi will feature with the aria Domine Deus from his legendary Gloria.
Instrumental works will consist of Corelli's Opus3 No.8 Concerto Grosso: the famous "Christmas concerto" as well as other works by great composers of the baroque time such as Telemann and Bach.
Tickets are sold at the door @ R170. Children are free.
The Monastery Tea Garden will be open for refreshments and light meals. There is ample, free and secure parking.
