On December 8, 2021, Music in the Hills (MiTH) will present Major Tom and EVO in a concert which will take place at The Knoll Historic Guest Farm in Hilton.

Major Tom at 20h30:
Major Tom is a Durban-based rock ‘n roll
trio that leans heavily on the sounds of the 60s, 70s and 80s. On bass is
composer, producer and studio engineer Brent Quinton. On drums is
multi-instrumentalist Paul Cassells, a 3rd generation drummer who performs and
teaches a wide variety of styles. On guitar and vocals is John Ellis, formerly
of Tree 63.

MiTH
tribute to the Sonjica family at 20h00
The Sonjica family are in MiTH’s thoughts
and prayers following, first, the loss of Elliot Sonjica in June, and now
Elijah Sonjica in November. Grace Botha is a beloved member of the MiTH family
both onstage and off and MiTH would like to take this opportunity to pay a
small musical tribute to Grace, her mother Dolly and the entire Sonjica family
in memory of Elliot and Elijah.
EVO
at 19h00
Hailing from Pietermaritzburg, KZN, EVO is
an energetic, vibrant duo, influenced by various genres from CCR and Mumford
and Sons to Jeremy Loops. EVO sings original songs as well as covering a few
well-known and not-so-well-known tunes. Evan on vocals, guitar and drum, Lynton
Richards on Bass guitar and sarcasm duty. Through his brand, EVOMUSIC, Evan
runs events at various venues in and around Pietermaritzburg supporting local
music. Evan is a member of two bands and collaborates with various artists on
and off the stage, excluding his solo career, where he occasionally
collaborates with himself. The genre of music falls into the
Acoustic/Indie/Rock category.

MiTH takes place every second Wednesday at The Knoll Historic Guest Farm, Knoll Drive, Hilton. Doors open at 18h00 and the music will kick off at 19h00. Entrance is R50 at the door. Bring your own booze. Food and soft drinks are available for sale.
Directions to MiTH: Take the N3 to Hilton, take the Hilton turnoff and go South into the Village (away from Hilton College). Travel 5,2km along Hilton Avenue (past two sets of traffic lights and Crossways Pub) and keep going straight as Hilton Avenue turns into Dennis Shepstone Drive. At the 5,2km mark, Knoll Drive will be on your right. The entrance to MiTH is the “second” entrance on your left into The Knoll Historic Guest Farm.
The concert takes place on December 8, 2021. Entrance: R50 - Cash or Zapper at the door. All Covid-19 protocols observed.
