DSTV HIGHLIGHTS: JANUARY 14-20

Dipped your toes in 2022 and not feeling ready for all of that yet? Shut the doors and enjoy some time in the dark with DStv.

Survivor is back with its 41st season, ensuring delightful Sunday evening viewing. This time, the contestants will only have 26 days to outwit, outplay and outlast each other for the ultimate title of Survivor and the $1 million prize (and yes, it’s still locked at a pre-tax million after 41 seasons).

Afrikaans viewers have epic Sunday night viewing to look forward to as Colonel Piet van der Bijl (Waldermar Schultz) and his team of investigators return for a 4th chilling season of Die Byl on kykNET (DStv channel 144).

And don’t miss a group of soccer players who are pushed to their limits when they get stranded in the Canadian wilderness after a plane crash in the brand-new psychological thriller series Yellowjackets. Cannibalism and Christina Ricci, Melanie Lynskey, Tawny Cypress and Juliette Lewis? Where’s the remote?

There’s also new episodes of the local true-crime series Strangers You Know, and a fantastic Sunday Night Blockbuster, Fatale, on M-Net.

This season was filmed on Fiji’s Mamanuca Islands between April and May 2021. There’s a dangerous new game afoot, complete with a twist that’ll have people rethinking their voting strategy. Host Jeff Probst says, “Survivor 41 is like the monster in a horror movie, and if you’re a player, it’s coming for you.”

Four high school soccer teammates go through hell after a plane crash strands them in the Canadian wilderness for 19 months. Felix & The Treasure of Morgaa
