Ismail Mohamed, the director of the Centre for Creative Arts, reports: “This iconic sculpture created by Marco Cianfanelli and the late Jeremy Rose of Mashabane Rose Architects is a remarkable monument to Nelson Mandela – the first president to be democratically elected in 1994 to lead South Africa’s constitutional democracy.”
This year the Centre for Creative Arts at the University of KwaZulu-Natal in partnership with the uMngeni Municipality will present the opening of the 2nd annual Artfluence Human Rights Festival from the capture site.
