Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat has just opened in the Hilton College Theatre! The much-loved family musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber and Tim Rice will be proudly presented by Hilton College and St Anne’s Diocesan College from April 24 to 28, 2022.

Celebrating its 50th anniversary this year, Joseph follows the Biblical story of Jacob’s favourite and prophetically-gifted son Joseph on his journey to Egypt after being sold into slavery by his ruthless and jealous brothers. The show offers the audience a kaleidoscope of musical styles, from country-western, calypso and disco to rock ‘n’ roll, and includes the popular songs Close Every Door to Me and Any Dream Will Do.

Directed by Luke Holder and Lynn Chemaly, with choreography by Joslyn Anderson, the show features a company of 26 boys and girls, and the combined virtual musical ensembles of Hilton College, St Anne’s Diocesan College, Cowan House, the Pietermaritzburg City Orchestra and other professional musicians from around the country.

This technologically cutting-edge production offers a fresh and contemporary take on history’s greatest dreamer, all brought to life in vivid colour and high-energy performances as part of Hilton’s 150th anniversary celebrations.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is presented in association with DALRO, SA. Booking is at Quicket
