Friends of Music will present a concert featuring the KZN Youth Orchestra on June 5, 2022. The orchestra comprises 65 talented young musicians from all around KZN province.
The hour-long concert (moved forward from an earlier date) will be an exciting one with music encompassing a variety of genres. There will be pieces from the Romantic period, from ballets, operas and movies and musicals and is excellent family entertainment.
Included in the programme are such pieces as The Capriccio Espagnole by Rimsky Korsakoff, music from Bizet’s Carmen and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet, music from The Greatest Showman and some jazz and rock items including Bohemian Rhapsody, What a Wonderful World, The Pink Panther and the ever-popular Sway, to name a few.
Conducted by Lyk Temmingh and presented by Cathy Peacock, the morning concert will send you away with a tune in your hearts.
Bring the whole family and come and support the youngsters and be enthralled by their orchestral delights.
The concert will take place on June 5, 2022, at 11h30 at the Durban Jewish Centre, 44 KE Masinga Road. Tickets: R120 (R100 members) (R75 children) at the door.
