The KZN Youth Orchestra (pictured above) will be performing in the Botanic Gardens Amphitheatre on Mothers’ Day, May 8, at 11h00 and 13h00,
The orchestra comprises 65 young musicians from all around KZN province.
Treat your mums, enjoy Durban’s glorious weather, bring a picnic and come and support the youngsters and be enthralled by their orchestral delights.
The hour-long concert will be an exciting one with music encompassing a variety of genres. There will be pieces from the Romantic period, from ballets, operas and movies and musicals and is excellent family entertainment.
Included in the programme are such pieces as The Capriccio Espagnole by Rimsky Korsakoff, music from Carmen, music from The Greatest Showman and some jazz and rock items including Bohemian Rhapsody and the ever-popular Sway, to name a few.
Conducted by Lyk Temmingh and presented by Cathy Peacock, the picnic concert will send you away with a tune in your hearts.
