Nibs van der Spuy’s first solo album in seven years, Maiden of the River, went 'Live' on all streaming platforms on May 4.
The special edition CD is also now available on https://nibsvanderspuy.bandcamp.com/ and includes an almost eight-minute song, Trams and angels not available on any of the streaming platforms.
“The music was written during the first lock-down along the Lisbon Coast. I used to escape after dark each night on my bicycle and guitar and found a quiet spot on the steps of an 18th century chapel, perched on top of a hill overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. This is where the musical ideas began to flow in almost perfect harmony to my surroundings,” says van der Spuy.
