This Sunday, July 10, at 19h00 the much anticipated first season of The Real Housewives of Cape Town makes its debut on Mzansi Magic (DStv Channel 161). Tune in to see what the glamorous, sophisticated and spicy businesswomen, wives and mothers of South Africa’s Mother City have to add to the popular Real Housewives franchise.

Mzansi Wethu (DStv Channel 163) has its first original drama and it is sure to keep audiences hooked from week to week: Isibopho starts July 10 at 21h00. Starring Slindile Nodangala and Zethu Dlomo, this is the story of a widow who finds herself fighting for her life after she fulfils her traditional duties and marries her late husband’s brother.

If it’s telenovelas that you enjoy, tune in to Meet the Family on Telemundo (DStv Channel 118) every day at 21h00. George Cruz is suffering from writer’s block and is trying to make a new life for himself in Los Angeles. Which of his new friends will stand by his side as he rebuilds?

There’s more drama on In die Ysterhand se Greep, Mondays to Thursdays at 17h30 on kykNET&kie (DStv Channel 145). This Turkish telenovela dubbed into Afrikaans features all the dramatic tropes you know and love: dubious pasts, memory loss and family members plotting each other’s downfall.
