WOMEN’S HIGH TEA AND TALK

The Tatham Art Gallery will host a Women’s High Tea and Talk accompanied by a walkabout on W.O.M.A.N Exhibition in the Main Room on August 13, 2022, between 10h00 and 12h30. The walkabout will be conducted by Education Officer Pinky Madlabane-Nkabinde. The exhibition display portrays works that reflect women diversity issues and cultural background through their artworks subject.

Tatham Art Gallery is home to many well-known and acclaimed female artists, and this exhibition is a celebration of art works by some by the local artists and those from abroad, and honours a few who are no longer with us. The exhibition space showcased varied items, includes paintings, prints, sculpture, beadwork, ceramics and fibre works drawn from the Gallery’s permanent collection.

During the course of the exhibition, one is given an opportunity to gaze at works that are celebrating all female legends who are still practising art and those who have left the legacy.

On the day of the event, ladies are invited to come into the Gallery to listen to the talks about the works on exhibit and the presenters who will be the guest speakers sharing the podium. The ladies’ Personal Perspectives will be archived and placed on the Gallery website and Facebook page, watch the space.

Booking is essential, as space is limited due to COVID-19 protocols.

The Tatham Art Gallery is situated opposite the Town Hall in Chief Albert Luthuli Street, Pietermaritzburg. It is open from Tuesdays to Sundays from 10h00 to 17h00. Café Tatham is open on Saturdays.
