NATALIE RUNGAN FOR CENTRE FOR JAZZ

The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will present Natalie Rungan on September 14, 2022, at 18h00.

Rungan has many albums, including her sixth (live) album, Caught in the middle which features Neil Gonsalves (keyboards), Bruce Baker (drums) and Talent Mbatha (bass). This live album recording has eight brand new songs, which were written, arranged and produced by Natalie and her last release Jazz Standards vol 1 which was released in 2021.

She is currently the Director of the Chris Seabrooke Music Centre, Head of Music at Durban High School, and completing her PhD at Rhodes University.

Rungan’s music expresses her thoughts and ideas about the many truths and faces of what she believes love and life to be.

The performance will take place at the UKZN Centre for Jazz and Popular Music on September 14 at 18h00. Doors open at 17h30

Rungan will be joined by Mark Royeppen on piano, Talent Mbatha bass, Siya Duma on saxophone and Bruce Baker on drums.

Tickets R100 (R70 pensioners and R40 students). Booking needs to be done by 15h00 Wednesday, September 14, 2022, at 18h00. Email zamat1@ukzn.ac.za to book.
