Pianist Christopher Duigan’s Music Revival will start the new year with renewed zeal, plus a moment of introspection, and an appealing and wide-ranging selection of South American piano music, from both the popular and classical repertoire.
Expect classics by Brazilian Heitor Villa-Lobos and Argentina's Alberto Ginastera. Sultry, melancholic songs from Mexico, along with tangos from Argentina (including a Piazzolla selection) balance a popular choice; personal favourite Ernesto Nazareth.
The Sound of South America will be presented on the following dates and venues:
January 26 (Thursday) at 19h00. Amber Auditorium, Howick
January 27 (Friday) 18h30 for 19h00. Supper Soiree, Casa Mexicana
January 29 (Sunday) at 12h00. Tatham Art Gallery, Pietermaritzburg
February 12 (Sunday) at 15h00. Ashton College, Ballito
