Ballito Lifestyle Centre, The Studios celebrates First Thursday with an exhibition titled Once Upon a Time which opens at 18h00 on April 6, 2023, and runs until May 28, 2023.
The gallery states: “Our individual stories are unique, each as significant as another’s. Some are to be shared and some are not. Stories are medicinal, they have power, and their simple remedies heal wounds, bridge divides and inspire. The Gallery presents a collaboration of artists and creatives who share their stories through a series of abstract marks that merge together through paint, pencil, clay, and bronze to collectively tell our South African story.”
The Gallery invited, through social media, creatives and professional artists living in KwaZulu-Natal to apply to participate in this exhibition. From 85 applicants, The Gallery has selected an extraordinarily diverse range of visual stories, as diverse as our nation.

This magnificent collaboration consists of over 45 artists, including established artists Lauriana Glenny, Rick Andrews, Major Ndlovu, Paul Murray, Sharleen Boaden, Kerry Michau, Gift Dlamini, Jane Digby, Olivia Martiz and more. The Gallery is proud to present emerging artists, to name a few: Sanele Xaba, Asiphile Luthuli, Hlobile Maphumulo, The Peach Pack Collective, Andile Ngcobo and Suraya Tewary.
Visiting The Gallery, you are invited to stop and pause, as you absorb the energy of the diverse artworks and the range of South African stories. Invest in yourself, invest in the energy of ART!
From 18h00, live music will add to the vibes along with a mini wine-tasting hosted by TOPS Lifestyle Centre.
In addition, Pizza Bae will be serving delicious food, drinks from Alchemy Gin Bar and cake from Chateau Gateau.
The Gallery is situated within The Studios, opposite Weylandts at Ballito Lifestyle Centre.
Daily opening hours are 09h00 until 17h00 seven days a week.
