The UKZN School of Arts proudly presents A
Free Lunch hour concert by Bachelor of Art in Music final year student,
Siphesihle Gumede.
This will take place on May 15, 2023, at the University of KwaZulu-Natal, Howard College Theatre at 12h15.
Siphesihle Gumede hails from the hills of Eshowe in the North of KwaZulu-Natal province in a small rural area called Kwa Khoza.
“The theme of the concert is Healing An African Soul. What to really expect in the performance is to be blown by the beauty of the African voice. The music will heal you from the wounds you've had. The song ndifihle speaks about that healing. The indigenous instrument Umakhweyana will be played with a song about destruction. Finally, the dance will amaze you, and is the reflection of my true story,” says Gumede.
Gumede fell in love with music at a very young age and began to take part in the school choir, leading every song in school competitions.
After matriculating, He enrolled for a Bachelor of Arts at the University of KwaZulu-Natal Howard College in 2021.
Entrance is free.
