EGG INTRODUCES JO STRACHAN & HIS NEW WORKS

(Left:  'Maggie' - Oil on Canvas 940 X 1240 Framed. R22,500.00)

The Elizabeth Gordon Gallery is happy to introduce Jo Strachan and two of his new works.

Owner of the gallery, Joy Reynolds says: “The gallery has many fond memories of his late father, Harold Strachan, who was an artist, and a particularly renowned art restorer. We all loved Harold's visits to the gallery as he was a great raconteur and very informative of his craft.

“Jo grew up on the Berea, and as his mother is also an artist he was always surrounded by paintings and from them he gained his love and appreciation of art.”

He works mainly in oils and is inspired by the works of Monet, Bonnard and Gaugin. His distinctive style is a blend of naivety and expressionism, seeking to infuse the narratives of everyday life with personal experience and perspectives. His vibrant palette, bold hues, rich textures and dynamic compositions set out to capture a world brimming with life and emotion.

('Right: Ginger'. Oil on Canvas 940 X 1240 Framed. R22,500.00)

Both paintings are framed in shadow box frames, "Maggie" in white, and "Ginger" in a natural kiaat wood.

The gallery is happy to offer a discount of 10% on either of these paintings, until August 15, 2023.
