KZN PHILHARMONIC 2023 EARLY SPRING SEASON

The KZN Philharmonic’s 2023 Early Spring Season, featuring a superb line-up of national and international talent, runs in The Playhouse Opera every Thursday from August 24 to September 7, each concert starting at 19h00.

CONCERT 1

Thursday August 24 at 19h00

Conductor: Arjan Tien

Soloist: Fanny Clamgirand, violin

-Glinka: Valse fantastique

-Mendelssohn: Violin Concerto in E minor

-Schubert: Symphony No 8 ‘Unfinished’

-Mendelssohn: A Midsummer Night’s Dream (Nocturne & Scherzo)

 

CONCERT 2

Thursday August 31 at 19h00

Conductor: Claudia Patanè

Soloist: Evgeny Konnov, piano

-Rossini: William Tell Overture

-Schubert: Symphony No 3

-Rachmaninoff: Piano Concerto No 3

 

CONCERT 3

Thursday September 7 at 19h00

Conductor: Daniel Boico

Soloist: Yeon-Min, piano

-Prokofiev: Symphony No 1 in D major ‘Classical’

-Schumann: Piano Concerto in A minor

-Beethoven: Symphony No 2

 

KZN Philharmonic Season tickets, and bookings for individual concerts, are available at Quicket outlets.

Tea and coffee can be purchased prior to concerts and during interval.

There will be Tea and Symphony concerts for the final rehearsal every Thursday morning at 10h00 in the Playhouse Opera. Tickets R50 adults and pensioners (R30 children 5 years and older), which includes a complimentary cup of coffee / tea.
