The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music presents Simthandile Mtolo on August 24, 2022, at 18h00.
Singer and composer, visual artist, and events co-ordinator. Simthandile Mtolo is one of the most consistent and dedicated individuals in the KZN creative industry. She holds over a decade of experience in the live entertainment industry as a professional performer and live entertainment specialist.
She comes from a family that loves music. Some of her influences include Simphiwe Dana, Esperanza Spalding, Erykah Badu as well as Whitney Houston, Jill Scott, Gregory Porter, Maleh, Lalah Hathaway, and Siphokazi.
For the concert, she will mostly be performing her new original compositions that consist of a lot of vocal dynamics.
Mtolo will present a beautiful selection of her well-known and new original music performed alongside Thuto Motsemme on bass, Sibusiso Ncube on drums and Samukelo Njinji on piano.
The concert will take place at 18h00 on August 24, 2022, (doors open at 17h30) at the UKZN, Centre for Jazz and Popular Music, University of Kwa-Zulu Natal, Howard College Campus, Dennis Shepstone Building, level 2.
