The Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will present the Sonik Citizen trio led by Mark Fransman (also known as Sonik Citizen) on August 16, 2023, at 17h30.
Mark Fransman is a highly acclaimed jazz and Afrosoul musician, two-times SAMA award winner and multi-instrumentalist from South Africa. He has musical projects in both genres of Jazz and AfroSoul.
He will be presenting music that includes
music from the album introduction to Sonik Citizen & Cape Tone which has
recently been nominated for the Mzantsi Jazz Awards, Best Contemporary Jazz Album
category.
Sonik Citizen trio features Mark Fransman (piano and sax), Prince Bulo (bass) and Sbu Zondi (drums).
The concert will take place at 17h30 (doors open at 17h00)
