QIQA MZALA REGGAE TOUR

 The Qiqa Mzala Reggae Tour features reggae artists from throughout Africa who are coming together in song to stand against all forms of war and violence, is heading to KZN with a series of KZN events scheduled for late October.

“Qiqa Mzala Reggae Tour 2023 comes to KZN with South African and international acts from Kenya, Uganda and Tanzania, with the intention of reviving the reggae status in South Africa,” said organiser Leigh Van Den Berg from KZN Gigs, Arts and Culture.

 The tour comprises Maveriq Mavo (Azania); Becky Muthoni (Kenya); C Wyne Nalukalala (Uganda); Queen Zipporah (Tanzania) and from closer to home: Rastas at Work (ZA); Sizwe Zakwe (ZA) with Bobo Youth (ZA); Italistic (ZA); Sankie Faya Uman (ZA); Roots of Kush (ZA) Teekay (ZA); Armstrong Cele (ZA); Melanin Goddess (ZA); Afrika Cele (ZA) and Ras Zero (ZA).  

The tour hosts are Shado Mpembe (Inanda fm); Ras Loid Injegele (Ingwane Fm) Jabulile (Bulungula fm) and Boboman (Soweto fm).

The Qiqa Mzala Reggae Tour is heading to our shores with a series of KZN events scheduled: on Friday October 27 they will be at Cool Runnings, 49 Milne Stret in Durban, at 19h00; then to Gibabland with two gigs - on Saturday October 28 at 16h00 and Sunday October 29 at noon.

“For all the reggae lovers, come join us for a weekend of rasta vibes for all to enjoy at Gibaland. The ticket options can even include glamping and camping,” said Van Den Berg.
