The new exhibition, titled hUmaNITY, seeks to showcase the beauty of our world and its people, offering a feast for both the eyes and soul.
Curator Sarah O’Reilly invites Ballito locals and holidaymakers alike to join them and partake in this celebration of art and the human spirit. “We are incredibly excited to bring you not only a selection of our top-selling artists and The Gallery firm favourites but would also like to welcome some first-time exhibitors within the space”, she said.

Sarah is eagerly anticipating the inclusion of Cape Town
based artist, Kelly Gough, in the new exhibition. “Kelly explores how painterly
and cultural elements – both sacred and profane, personal and public – come
together to play on ideas of beauty while carrying messages about modern
aesthetics, privacy and voyeurism,” explained O’Reilly.
Two other new exhibitors to look out for are:
Sarah Kelly is a much loved, Howick-based artist, whose paintings portray the things she loves most, mainly nature and beautiful botanicals. Her love for nature is simply and beautifully portrayed in large-scale works done in watercolours or mixed media.
Siyabonga Skosana, who hails from Pietermaritzburg, is well known for his incredibly honest and vibrant portrayals of township life. He paints jovial and humorous scenes while still expressing the harsh realities of poverty within his surroundings.
The hUmaNITY exhibition officially opens at 18h00 on Thursday, December 7, 2023. We love coinciding the launch of our exhibitions with First Thursdays at The Studios, The vibe and energy are amazing. Art lovers can browse the new exhibition while enjoying live music by the incredible Afritude and a bubbly-tasting by Lifestyle Tops to get them in the festive spirit. Thai fare from Soi 55, delicious pizzas from Pizza Bae's 1967 Land Rover and drinks from Alchemy Bar will be on hand to make for an enjoyable evening out.”(Right: Halfway between
