The Playhouse Company will hold auditions this Friday (December 8, 2023) for its forthcoming staging of a sociologically important production named Breadcrumbs by Jennifer Haley.
This focuses on the character of Beth, who is described as a ‘chaotic drifter looking for home’.
She is in her mid to late twenties and has had a variety of jobs, including an assistant in a clinic. She has an on/off relationship with her boyfriend, a musician. During the course of the play, we discover that she has abandonment issues that have left their mark emotionally.
The Playhouse is looking for a suitable actress of African descent who is a graduate from a tertiary institution majoring in drama & performance studies.
Auditionees should bring a monologue plus a poem in English of their choice and prepare a monologue from the play. They might also be required to sight-read a passage of dialogue.
Spaces are limited, so it is imperative that audition slots be booked in advance. The auditions will be held this Friday, December 8 between 09h00 and 16h00 in Studio A1 at the Playhouse.
