DURBAN FILM OFFICE: CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS FOR MICRO BUDGET FILM FUND

EThekwini Municipality’s Durban Film Office is announcing its 2023/2024 call out for submissions for the Micro Budget Film Fund.

The Micro-budget Film Programme aims to support local emerging filmmakers and encourage the production of content to stimulate the development of local film industry. The programme seeks to develop a local model and brand of Made for TV films that is cost-effective, practical, and commercially viable.

The Durban Film Office defines 'emerging' filmmaker as having acquired some experience producing a work which has earned industry or public attention, and is aspiring to write, direct or produce feature film length works. The Micro-budget Film Fund offers R350, 000.00 for production of a feature length film to three projects.

The Micro Budget Film Fund fact sheet is also available on the Durban Film Office website to assist you in outlining the overview of the programme, eligibility criteria, submission criteria, evaluation process, and contractual agreement.
