Flatfoot Dance Company / KZNSA Gallery presents Busy Being Blue at the KZNSA Gallery: on February 23 and 24, 2024, at 18h30.
In keeping with its reputation for edgy, beautiful and intelligent dance, FLATFOOT DANCE COMPANY partners with Glenwood’s iconic KZNSA Gallery to offer a site responsive dance work that ask audiences to join us - in close proximity - as we untangle “busy being blue”.
In a fluid display of exquisite contemporary dance, FLATFOOT’s six resident dancers dive into the head and heart of the blues – a nod to some great blues and jazz music, but also to the inner life of struggle and our desperate (and beautiful) fight to be present in this life. Busy Being Blue offers a surprisingly gentle embodied encounter with dance that will leave audiences breathless – and maybe a little reflective.
The KZNSA café will be open from 17h00 for dinner and drinks – come early and enjoy an evening under the stars. (The KZNSA shop will also be open until 18h00)
Choreographed in a collaborative offering by the full company; Lliane Loots, Sifiso Khumalo, Jabu Siphika, Sbonga Ndlovu, Siseko Duba, Ndumiso Dube, and Zinhle Nzama
Each performance has a limit of x100 audience members only
