Episode 5 Synopsis: There’s a new prime suspect in Andrew McKenzie’s murder when a weapon is discovered in an unlikely location. Forty’s bosses want charges to be laid, but he’s not entirely convinced after re-enacting the crime at the McKenzie home with Peri Zondo and Edie.
The tension between Werner and Robert builds and Jamie steps up the manipulation of her brother Daniel.
Edie visits Macky Hofmeyer three times in one day – with a new agenda and a different result, each time. His joint venture development with Andrew McKenzie is in trouble and he’s getting increasingly desperate to get his hands on the paperwork. Meanwhile, she’s facing increasing pressure from her editor at the Daily Mercury to deliver as Edgar continues to poach stories out from under her nose.
Blood is spilled at Edie’s flat and after she turns to Avi for consolation, the visit ends with glaring headlights, revving engines and a calamitous crash.
Watch out for: The results of renewed pressure on Daniel from the gangsters, even after his Weber blackmail money paid off his drug debt.
