(Above: Raymond Perrier with the book. Pic supplied)

The picture shows the Director of the Denis Hurley Centre, Raymond Perrier, standing in front of the photo of Paddy holding his book about Denis Hurley!

The book called Paddy Kearney - a Prophet for our Times is over 320 pages with some fascinating historic photographs as well as links to additional on-line material. In his foreword, Hon. Pravin Gordhan comments: "This homage to Paddy Kearney’s life should inspire a new generation of change agents to continue his fight for social and economic justice and peace."

You can order now for R320 (excluding delivery). The book is also increasingly available in shops in Durban and through distributors overseas: just email us for more info. If you would like to buy a signed dedicated copy from Raymond at the DHC then email him.

The book was launched as part of the Annual Paddy Kearney Lecture, organised jointly with the Gandhi Development Trust, Active Citizens Movement and DUT. The lecturer last weekend was Judge Chris Nicholson who was part of the legal team that defended Paddy Kearney when he was detained without trial in 1985.

The full text of his lecture (and previous memorial lectures) can be read here: https://www.denishurleycentre.org/page/memorial-lectures
