Flying in from Cape Town for a couple of KZN gigs after
touring the UK, Kujenga are hot property right now! They were “Newcomer of the
Year” winners at the Mzansi Jazz Awards 2024. They appeared on Mail &
Guardian’s Top 200 Young South Africans 2024 list; nominated for a SAMA Award
for Best Jazz Album 2024; and they’ve headlined festivals such as Cape Town
International Jazz Festival, Standard Bank Joy of Jazz and more.
This performance by Kujenga is a massive coup for lovers of live music in the KZN Midlands! After blowing away audiences at the Cape Town International Jazz Festival and Joburg's Joy of Jazz, they're just back from touring the United Kingdom. 2024 SAMA Nominees, Kujenga, are a "seven piece Black improvised music collective from Cape Town" that is currently one of SA's hottest gigs around.
Described as having "captivated audiences with their unique sound that fuses traditional jazz elements with contemporary influences while blending Africanism into their sound. They will perform at The Knoll in Hilton – 15h30 to 19h00 on November 30 (get there at 15h30 – live music from 16h00 to 19h00).
