South African poetry takes centre stage as acclaimed poet
and curator Nkululeko ‘Page’ Ngwenya hosts Your
Words: The Love Experience, a Valentine’s-inspired poetry and music event on
Saturday, February 15, 2025, at the UKZN Jazz Centre.
This highly anticipated showcase, supported by the National Arts Council under the Department of Sports, Arts & Culture, promises an evening of poetic brilliance, soul-stirring music, and heartfelt storytelling.
Featuring some of South Africa’s most dynamic spoken word artists, it will be a celebration of love in all its forms.
Ngwenya is not only bringing poetry lovers together for this unique experience, but he is also set to represent South Africa at the SLAM Awards International in Bamako, Mali.
He is one of 17 South African poets
nominated for this prestigious award and is up for the Best Curator category, a
recognition of his dedication to the local poetry scene.
Headlining Acts:
Featuring South Africa’s top poets, including Gubhela,
Xabiso Vili, Nomashenge and Sindiswa Zulu.
Soulful Music: With a special performance by N’den and live piano by Khulekani Hadebe.
Supporting Acts: Rising stars Steel The Poet and Farah Sayed will showcase their talent.
Open Mic Session: Giving attendees the opportunity to share their own words of love.
