Thomie invited you to "Georgy Porgy" on December 13 at 6:30pm.
Actor Thomie Holtzhausen, currently appearing in the adult panto Sinderella … Comes Again at the Jubilee Hall (see supper theatre), is to revive his highly popular one-man show, Georgy Porgy for a short country tour. This tour will include one performance in Durban on December 13 at The Lounge.
Georgy Porgy heralds the hysterical history of George. His childhood and - especially his memories and experiences of his rather “liberal” mother - have made George exactly who he is today… a platteland vicar in a small female-dominated parish in the Free State. He has a rather idiosyncratic view of the opposite sex. He considers women beautiful, aloof and alluring but they reside upon pedestals high above common man.
But women are also curious, very curious… especially about George’s vows of abstinence and celibacy. This fact, women find a fascinating mystery… and what woman can resist a good mystery…?
Georgy Porgy will have its one Durban performance on December 13 at 18h30 (the show is an hour long) at The Lounge, 226 Mathews Meyiwa Avenue (Stamfordhill Road). Tickets at the door and there will be a cash bar. After the show, there will be an Open Mike poetry evening.
