FUND-RAISING BAROQUE CONCERT

Violeta Osorhean (assistant concert master of the KZNPO) and David Smith – on violin and harpsichord respectively – will give a concert on July 18 to raise funds for repairs to the Assumption Church Hall. The programme of baroque chamber music includes sonatas by Geminiani, Veracini, Locatelli, shorter pieces by Boccherini, Corelli, Fiocco and Leclair, concluding with excerpts from Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons. There will also be a short illustrated talk on the construction of the harpsichord by Chris Brouckaert.

The concert takes place at 14h30 on July 18 in the Assumption Church Hall, corner of Nicholson Rd and Queen Mary Avenue, Umbilo, Durban. Tickets at the door R45 (R35 scholars and pensioners) and the hall opens at 14h00.
