ROWAN STUART & SHANNON HOPE

Performance by two of Durban top solo artists at Kloof venue.

Two of Durban’s top solo artists, Shannon Hope and Rowan Stuart, will join forces for an exciting double bill at Bluestockings in Kloof on July 16.

Shannon Hope is a pianist and vocal artist who plays original music, which she describes as ‘Art Pop’. She returns to Durban after performing her intriguingly powerful songs at the National Arts Festival in Grahamstown. Over the past year, Hope has gained a reputation as one of the hardest-touring self-managed solo artists on the national circuit, delivering an intense personal commentary on emotional fragility and power, to audiences across the country.

Singer-songwriter-guitarist Rowan Stuart will share the evening with his own brand of original music, described as ‘sophisticated pop’. He has also been hard at work on tour, promoting his latest album Soul in a Suitcase, which has received radio play around the country with the singles Miles Away and She’s Music. Fans of John Mayer and Sting should enjoy his music. Rowan is excited to perform once again in Kloof, which has a special place for him as the town in which he grew up.

Supporters of home-grown talent should not miss the opportunity to watch both of these artists on one night of high-class music.

The show takes place at Bluestockings in Kloof at 19h00 for 19h30 on July 16. Entry R60. Bookings through Narene on 083 659 3628 or Shawn on 074 119 2999. Food and drinks will be on sale, as well as CD’s from both artists.
