MILTON ACADEMY JAZZ BAND

Hilton & Howick Rotary Club are to present a Charity Jazz Evening with the internationally famous Milton Academy Jazz Band from Boston, USA on March 14 at Hilton College.

Launched in 1974, Milton Academy's jazz programme is a blend of classroom work and live performance, designed to give young players the opportunity to explore the language of jazz. Approximately 90 students participate in the programme, in one of nine jazz combos.

The academy regularly hosts noted visiting artists including Darius Brubeck, Abdullah Ibrahim, Babatunde Olatunji, Harry Pickens and Poncho Sanchez. This jazz band has visited South Africa bi-annually since 1991 to perform for charity purposes.

The evening's programme on March 14 at 19h00 at the Hilton College Theatre also features the Hilton College Marimba Band. Tickets R60 (R30 scholars) booked on 033 383 0126/7 or email tickets@hiltoncollege.com
