FATHERS DAY CONCERT

The ever popular Old Mutual Music at the Lake Concerts offer entertainment for the whole family and their Fathers Day concert, a first in this series, offers a wonderful opportunity for family and friends to relax and enjoy a picnic at the lake. There are super prizes to be won with lots of fun and entertainment for the children in the kids zone.

A special programme of contemporary and light classical music will be presented by the KZN Philharmonic Orchestra under the baton of Conductor Naum Rousine. Items on the varied programme include La Cenerentola by Rossini and L’Arlesienne by Bizet and a selection from Broadway shows Chorus Line and Chicago. Guest soloists, Belinda Dolphin and Jaziel Vaugh-hann, have chosen well-known favourites to encourage the audiences to join in and sing a long.

The Father’s Day Concert takes play on June 19 at 14h30. Gates open at 12h30 and the Kids Zone operates from 13h30 to 16h30 where a special programme will keep them busy while Mum and Dad relax and enjoy the concert.

Tickets R80 (R70 adults Early Bird tickets) with R20 concession tickets for children six years to 12 years. Tickets available online from www.ticketbreak.co.za or purchased from the Info Centre in the Durban Botanic Gardens.

R50 is the special concession ticket price for Members of the Friends of the Durban Botanic Gardens on presentation of a current membership card. These tickets are not available online but can be purchased from the Info Centre in the Gardens or at the ticket tables on the day of the concert.

Secure parking is available at the Visitors Complex and on the Juventus ground. Entrance is off lower John Zikhale (Sydenham) Road. Additional parking is offered on the Munies Hockey Field off lower John Zikhale Road.
