The ACT | DALRO | Nedbank Performing Arts Scholarships registration due date has been extended to June 15.
Grade 12 learners are invited to register to participate in the regional rounds to take place in Grahamstown, Port Elizabeth, Cape Town, Durban and Johannesburg during July. Contenders will be assessed on their acting, singing and dancing potential. In order to secure a spot in the final, participants should demonstrate competence in all three disciplines with exceptional talent in at least one.
Two scholarships to the value of R105,000 each will be awarded on the evening of October 4 2012 at the final round of the competition, hosted by UJ Arts & Culture at the University of Johannesburg. Winners are at liberty to study their preferred performing arts course at any accredited South African tertiary institution.
The winners will be selected by an independent panel of adjudicators, comprising performing arts experts - HHP (popular music artist); Grace Meadows (presenter, actress and Production Manager of UJ Arts & Culture); Renos Nicos Spanoudes (actor, Naledi judge and writer); Jennis Williamson (Artist Manager from Talent Etc).; Lulu Mlangeni (dancer and choreographer) and Anton Luitingh (musical theatre expert and director).
The KZN regional rounds will be hosted at Danville Park Girls High School on July 27 and 28, 2012.
