The Pietermaritzburg City Orchestra
presents A Night at the Movies - a
concert celebrating a century of film music, ranging from The Wizard of Oz and Chitty
Chitty Bang Bang from the golden age of cinema, to the current blockbusters
such as The Hunger Games and The Twilight Saga, as well as epic
masterpieces, including Lord of the
Rings, Star Wars, Jurassic Park, Gladiator, Harry Potter and Pirates of the Caribbean.
The concert features music from some of
cinema's greatest composers, including Hans Zimmer, Alan Silvestri, James
Newton Howard, Ennio Morricone, and the inimitable John Williams. This fitting
tribute to film music is sure to appeal to the entire family.
