The Music School Umhlanga has an ongoing
live music project, Xhameleon, made up of teachers and a blend of young pupils.
As the name Xhameleon suggests, the line-up is never cast in stone. They can
expand, contract, change mood, style, feel, colour, on demand.
For the International Blues Festival, they
have selected a shortlist of mainly traditional pieces, which includes; Confessing The Blues (old school 12
bar), Summertime (re-arranged blues
crawl), People Get Ready (Blues
influences Gospel), Don’t Feel Right
Blues (Classic Blues/ Own Composition), Don’t
Hurry Back (Blues/Latin Own Composition), I'm A Woman (Belting Blues/Rock), Route66 (Traditional), Electric
Softtop (Blues/Funk drive /Own Composition), and more.
They will perform at the International
Blues Festival on September 28 around 14h30 at Zack’s Wilson’s Wharf.
