Darryl Hofmann and his Whole Food team will
kick off the New Year by hosting a Night Market on February 6 at Three Cities
Docklands Hotel on the Point.
The idea is to continue the Night Market in
the Three Cities Docklands Hotel’s charming retro courtyard. The range of
products on display is evolving to focus on Durban’s top creatives and funky,
cutting-edge design, handcrafted and bespoke items. The vendor mix will include
lighting ideas, decor items, restoration services, furniture, fine artists,
personal accessories – and of course festive fare. The Docklands restaurant and
WODKA will be open for dinner. There will also be a selection of food and
beverage stalls available.
Part of the attraction of the Night Markets
is the open air live music on offer. This time, music will be courtesy of great
Durban band, Lieutenant Vinyl, a Durban- based three-piece Rock ‘n Roll band
inspired by 90’s grunge rock. The band is made up of Paul Edy (lead vocals/
guitar), Brett Edy (bass) and Michael Wagner (drums). Formed at the beginning
of 2008, Lieutenant Vinyl continue to refine their live set while focusing on
writing fresh, original, soulful Rock n Roll songs, that live audiences can
sink their teeth into. They will be perform between 18h30 and 21h30.
The Durban Night Market takes place at the Three
Cities Docklands Hotel, Point, on February 6 from 17h00 to 22h00. Three Cities
Docklands Hotel is situated at the corner of Mahatma Gandhi and Browns Avenue.
There is ample parking at Docklands– with additional security.
