(Pranesh
Maharaj)
Following its success a few weeks ago, Bhagwan Gave Me This Life (God gave me
this life) will have a return season due to popular demand at the Catalina
Theatre this coming weekend. (March 7 to 9)
Featuring a stand-out performance by
Pranesh Maharaj, the play is mainly in Hindi and was written and directed by
Vivian Moodley who has an illustrious resume in the performing arts on every
known medium. “This is probably SA’s first Hindi cultural production,” says
Moodley. “Yet it is designed to be accessible to all. The story is specific to
the time and area; and if you are from that generation then it will bring back
memories, make you laugh and shed a tear. If not, then it will give you a sense
of history and cultural heritage.”
Bhagwan
Gave Me This Life is produced by Polart Productions
in conjunction with Radio Hindvani.
It runs at Catalina Theatre with a bumper
eight shows over the weekend of March 7 to 9 with performances at 20h00 every
evening with two shows on March 7 at 15h00 and 20h00. Performances on Saturday
and Sunday take place at 14h00, 17h00 and 20h00. Booking is at Computicket.
This is a family-friendly production, suitable for all ages.
