(Musa
Hlatshwayo)
After 13 years of active support to the Field
Band Foundation’s astounding youth development work, FK Norway presents a
moving conference themed Youth
Leadership’ – Youth; the key to development and economic growth.
This conference will be held at the Indaba
hotel and conference centre in Johannesburg on May 9. This time, FBF is the
technical service provider of this event. In the interest of engaging with the
theme of this conference by practically engaging 'Youth Leadership' even in
their approach, FBF has put together a Dream Team made up of some of their
notable active youth leaders from some of their Gauteng based bands to be the
team behind realizing this event under the tutelage of Durban choreographer Musa
Hlatshwayo.
This Dream Team includes Phumzile Twala
(Alex’s Project Officer) and Vusi Dlamini (Witbank’s Project Officer) both
steering Logistics and Planning. Emmanueal Rattle from Alexandra Field Band
spearheads the Creative Team that also features Peter Maluleka from
Hammanskraal on musical arrangements, brass section as well as band conducting
together with Bongani Goliath from Black Like Me Soweto on pit and percussion
musical arrangements and conducting. Mary Aphane from Cullinan together with
Sello Ramosepele are in the PR and Communications department. The Dream Team
has also identified a Dream Cast that comprises of young performers across all
sections from Alexandra Field Band, Black Like Me Soweto Field Band, PFG
Londulusha Field Band (Springs), De Beers PPC Cullinan and Hammanskraal Field
Band.
