Performing at
midday today at The UKZN Centre for Jazz and Popular Music will be Ensemble
Cross.art- World contemporary piano currents. The group features Junko Yamamoto
(piano), and Oliver Sascha Frick (electronics).
The Ensemble Cross.art
from Stuttgart, Germany presents new and newest contemporary music for piano
combined with video, electronics and solo. The audience will experience master
pieces from European composers like Helmut Lachenmann, Pierre Boulez and
Jonathan Harvey put side to side with works of the young generation from
Europe, America and South Africa.
Ensemble Cross.art will
also visit Potchefstroom, Johannesburg and Stellenbosch as part of their South
African tour.
The free concert
takes place today (Monday August 11) at 12h20 at the Centre for Jazz and
Popular Music (CJPM) Level 2, Shepstone Building UKZN Howard College Campus. For
