THE BLUES TRAIN

(Raoul and Black Friday!)

With the monthly Blues gigs at Live now becoming a popular gig evening ,organizer Will Wallace and The Blues Train (who host the evening), have an added dimension to the next  blues evening which is scheduled for tonight (August 15).

Raoul Roux as front man and lead guitarist are electrifying! Alongside him is tight, solid, hot blues outfit, Raoul and Black Friday! Rocking’ blues in a style which is anything but laidback and setting the bar at an international level and never settling for less. Raoul and Black Friday describe their style as "ever evolving, learning and developing using blues as the fundamental style."

The band members are technically brilliant and make for a fine-tuned machine but they are much more than instrumental virtuosos. Their playing underpins a true blues passion for their music.

"You must LIVE the music," says Raoul Roux. And they do just that as the band's live performances transport their audience on an exhilarating blues journey of audio and visual stimulation.

Support Acts are Bobby and The Dynamites and East Coast Basement Blues Band

Will Wallace is also the Programme Director for the Durban International Blues Festival, which is held annually at Wilson's Wharf and celebrates its tenth year this year from October 14 to 19.

Say Wallace, "We have decided to take advantage of this magical blues evening at Live and use the occasion to hold a draw for the name or name the local artists who will perform on the Durban International Blues Festival Stage on the Tuesday night at the Local Blues Explosion. There will be four slots and we have at least nine bands to choose from so we will be having a draw at Live at about 22h00 on August 15," he adds.

The Blues Train takes place tonight (August 15). Doors open at 20h00. Entry R50. Live the Venue is situated at 166 Matthews Meyiwa Road (formerly Stamford Hill Road), Durban. More information on 082 967 2179.
