Rising Star Performing Arts are looking for 15 to 20 young
performers (Grade 7 to 11) to be cast in the RSPA Theatre School entry, The Merchant of Venice.
This production will be staged at the Playhouse during the
first week of September 2015 as part of the Shakespeare for Schools Festival.
Auditions will take place on March 21 from 12h00 to 15h00 at
the Westville Theatre Club, Attercliffe Road in Westville.
Westville Theatre Club will also be the rehearsal venue with
rehearsals taking place on Saturdays from April 25 to August 29 from 12h00 to
14h00. There will be one rehearsal during the July holidays, on July 29 from 12h00
to 17h00.
To register for audition, performers need to email their
full name, age, grade, gender and high school to info@rspa.co.za
RSPA will send the audition registration form, audition
time, and audition monologue (to be performed from memory) plus any further
instructions. Auditionees need to arrive at the audition with the completed
registration form and a recent picture.
A Production Fee will be levied to all performers to cover
production costs. RSPA do not make any profits from this production – all
profits go to the Shakespeare for Schools Festival Association.
