Audience favourite
Andre the Hilarious Hypnotist returns to UKZN’s Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre from
September 8 to 20 to enthral local fans with his quick-witted humour and
astonishing tricks of the mind.
For the past 21
years Andre has held audiences spellbound with his unique brand of dry wit
combined with his unwavering sense of humour and an uncanny ability to get
members of the public to engage in weird, whacky and wonderfully funny
activities on stage.
His shows are
traditionally crowd-pullers, as the man is renowned for presenting
unforgettable, highly-interactive performances that leave his audiences
flitting between fits of laughter and gasping in amazement as ordinary
volunteers drop deep into hypnotic trances and lose all inhibitions with just a
click of his fingers.
His shows are
geared for the whole family. Even those who have previously experienced the
magic of his shows get to enjoy something new every time.
Andre, who has
presented his explosively funny shows at more than 4,500 live performances, and
hypnotized well over 30000 people, propels the age-old art form of hypnosis
into the 21st century with supersonic hypnotic speed and outrageously funny
sketches.
Trained by the
legendary Max Collie and having set attendance records at nearly all theatres
in South Africa, Andre is yet to show signs of slowing down. Now officially 100
kg’s lighter (due
to a diet that
finally worked), this star entertainer has found a new "spring in his
step" and describes the new him as being “young, thin and funny”.
His show runs from
September 8 to 20 at the Elizabeth Sneddon Theatre with performances from Tuesdays
to Saturdays at 19h30 (Sundays at 15h00). Tickets R80 (Tuesday to Thursday) and
R90 (Friday to Sunday) with R70pp for block bookings. Tickets booked at Computicket
or Shoprite Checkers or online at www.computicket.com Tickets can also be bought at the door
before the show.
